| BENEFIT FOR MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS:
On November
16th, the 4th Annual Denver "Rockin' out MS" event
will be held at the Soiled Dove Underground, First and Quebec.
This event
will include a silent auction and concert with FIREFALL ACOUSTIC'
s CD RELEASE PARTY! A "Tribute to the Beatles".
Linda & Jessica
Storey will open the night. This show will benefit the Denver Chapter
of the National MS Society and CASE for MS. MS, or multiple sclerosis,
is a disease that attacks adults in the prime of their lives, typically
20-50 years old. Linda was a full-time musician on the road at
the age of 23 when she was diagnosed. MS effects the nervous system,
short-circuiting signals indiscriminately. Some famous people with
MS include Talk Show host Montel Williams, actress Teri Garr, and
country singers Hal Ketchum and Clay Walker. Comedian Richard Pryor
also suffered from MS.
Living with MS since 1977, Linda has gone through many changes
and has learned much. In addition to finding the cure, there are
a lot of laws and attitudes that need to be changed in order for
the disabled to have the same rights as all Americans to pursue their
dreams. As president of Case for MS, Linda has worked hard with legislation
and will continue to work as an advocate for the disabled.
In 2004 Linda
received the Advocacy Volunteer of the Year Award from the National
MS Society, and in 2005 she was featured in the Wall Street Journal.
Along with the board of CASE for MS, she will continue this work
and expand. The board includes Linda’s daughter
Jessica, a CU graduate, who has lived with Linda’s MS all her
life; Alison Zellner, Great West Associate Manager who has MS; and
Guy Errickson, former President of the Colorado Music Association
and DJ at KGNU whose sister has MS.
Together they will continue to have fundraising concerts, advocate
for the disabled, support musicians that have MS, and educate the
public through the media and special events.
Case for MS
appreciates any support that you can give them. They are in need
of sponsors, donations for the silent auction, and publicity. All
donations are tax deductible .
