DENVER – Five years in the making, Denver’s newest outdoor concert venue, Levitt Pavilion Denver, is gearing up for its grand opening on Thursday, July 20, 2017, and has announced its first wave of free concerts as part of its inaugural summer concert season. The state-of-the art outdoor amphitheater, able to accommodate up to 7,500 people in its open lawn setting, is located in Denver’s beautiful Ruby Hill Park. Levitt Pavilion Denver will present 30 free concerts this year featuring acclaimed Denver-based artists and award-winning regional and national talent in a wide array of music genres. Next year and thereafter, Levitt Pavilion Denver will present 50 free concerts to the community every year.

“Levitt Pavilion Denver began as a dream five years ago. Since then, we’ve been working diligently to turn this dream into a reality,” says Chris Zacher, founder and executive director of the nonprofit behind Levitt Pavilion Denver. “We’re incredibly excited to begin presenting free music to the community, ensuring access to high quality performances for people of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds,”

Zacher noted that while Levitt concerts are free, all musicians are paid a competitive fee.

Announced Concerts To Date:
July 20: Slim Cessna’s Auto Club (Rock) as part of The Colorado Music Series
July 23: The Stone Foxes (Rock/pop)
August 3: The Suffers (Soul/funk) presented as part of the Levitt National Tour
August 4: John Fullbright (Folk/Americana)
August 24: Gaby Moreno (Latin)

Furthering Levitt Pavilion Denver’s commitment to supporting Denver’s exploding music scene, each concert will feature at least one Denver-based opening act, to be announced at a later date. “We believe Colorado’s music scene is something special, and deserves to be showcased as well as cultivated,” says Zacher.

The public is invited to bring their picnic blankets and lawn chairs to the free concerts — reflecting the casual, family-friendly atmosphere of all Levitt concerts.

Through a partnership with Emporium Presents, Levitt Pavilion Denver will also present a handful of ticketed shows, featuring artists like UB40 and 311. These shows are supplemental to the free concert series, which will continue to focus on new and emerging talent as well as seasoned artists.

A full schedule of both free and paid shows, as well as parking info, can be found at http://www.levittdenver.org. Additional concerts and events will be posted a regular basis, so stay tuned!

The venue will be programmed, managed and supported by Friends of Levitt Pavilion Denver, a local nonprofit dedicated to building community through music.
