Gilbert Taylor in Lash LaRue, c1989 (photo by Chuck Rains)

There will be a benefit for Gilbert Taylor’s family and a celebration of his life at The Venue, 1451 Cortez (basically Highway 36 and Pecos), starting at noon on Sunday, June 3rd. His friend
Ron Eenhuis writes:

Always there from the start.
We crossed paths so many times throughout the years.
Gil always had a smile on his face, and goodness in his heart.
Goodbye Friend!
See you in Rock and Roll Heaven!

Carmen Uranga: Yes, there is a Go Fund Me page for Gil Taylor. Thank you, Paul Tucker.

From Shelly Tackwell: Hello Everyone… This Go Fund Me is to raise money to help Gilbert’s daughter and family pay medical expenses and expenses for final arrangements for Gilbert. What happened to Gilbert was sudden and has devastated his entire family. Any and all donations will go directly to his daughter Kay and his baby granddaughter. Every little bit helps. Gilbert has touched so many lives especially in the music scene…. Thank you all in advance. Please share!!! God Bless You!

Chuck Rains: Don’t post much on [Facebook] anymore – today is an exception. Rest In Peace, Gil. A very genuine soul that I will remember with a smile. Didn’t know him super well but we did run in the same circles during a period in our lives and he was always very gracious and lighthearted when we did cross paths. I did come across a couple of photos I took when he was in Lash LaRue in ‘89 and I love that he has a Fleury button on his guitar strap! God Bless you brother.
