COMBO has several members in the Colorado Springs region that have asked for us to hold a meeting there since it is a little hard to get up to Denver. We’ve held a meeting in Fort Collins and will do another soon. So – working with Amy Whitesell of A Music Company, Inc., and Dave Richards of the Random Detour Band – we have set up a meeting at the upstairs room at Jack Quinn’s, 21 South Tejon Street in Colorado Springs for Monday September 26th from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Barb Dye, president of COMBO, will be there to host the meeting and is looking forward to seeing “old friends” again!

Amy has gathered up a panel of 4 music or music-related professionals from Colorado Springs to speak to guests about the Business of Music. These speakers include Randy Block from Green Mountain Studios (a local Colorado Springs recording studio); Jack Quinn’s general manager Les Bridget who also does their booking (he’ll tell you what he looks for when hiring a band); Steve Harris, a festival promoter, who has presented Rocky Mountain Highway and the MeadowGrass Music Festival; and a writer who covers bands and concerts from one of the local newspapers.

The meeting is free and open to the public. All ages may attend, too! Please pass this info onto your musical friends and come!

What: COMBO Meeting on “The Basics of Promoting Your Band”
Where: Jack Quinn’s, 21 South Tejon Street in Colorado Springs
When: Monday, September 26th
Time: 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

As this is a Monday night, parking will be relatively easy and free as paying ends at 6:00 p.m.

We sincerely want to thank Amy Whitesell for taking the initiative to set this up for COMBO, and to Dave Richards for their assistance in getting this off the ground.
