Song Listening Sessions
Get feedback on your song in person, directly from the pros.
1. Bring CD with you to Listening Sessions. Make sure song selection is clearly marked on CD.
2. Bring 3 typewritten copies of lyric sheets to each session.
3. Song Listening Session assignments will remain posted in Thursday’s sign-in area throughout the event.

DENVER ECLECTIC CONCERTS PRESENTS ALTIUS STRING QUARTET

Denver, CO – September 2015 – Denver Eclectic Concerts’ October event features Altius String Quartet performing old and new works including Shostakovich Quartet no. 9 as well as Schubert. Event takes place Thursday October 1st, 7pm, at Cameron Church, 1600 South Pearl Street in Denver’s historic Old South Pearl District.

Hailed as “rich” and “captivating” by the renowned music blog, I Care If You Listen, the Altius Quartet is quickly garnering an international reputation and enrapturing the hearts of audiences everywhere.

Altius was the silver medalist at the 2014 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition in South Bend, Indiana, and were first-prize recipients at both the 2014 Coltman Chamber Music Competition in Austin, Texas, and the 2013 Plowman Chamber Music Competition in Columbia, Missouri. The quartet recently competed at the Seventh Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition as one of eight string quartets selected worldwide.

Formed in 2011 at Southern Methodist University Meadows School of the Arts, Altius holds the position as Fellowship String Quartet-in-Residence at the University of Colorado – Boulder, where they are mentored by the Takács Quartet.

Denver Eclectic Concerts’ express purpose is to broaden the public’s exposure to diverse and unique music through a series of monthly concerts September through May. Performances are specifically presented by talented local artists who contribute immensely to the exceptional flavor and richness of the culture of Denver. The performers preface each musical performance with an informative and highly interesting short discussion. Cameron Church offers an ambient, intimate setting.

DENVER OPEN MEDIA’S MUSIC SESSIONS PRESENT THE FIRST FRIDAY

Join DOM for this month’s Open Music Sessions on Friday, October 2, featuring a live musical performance by PrettyMouth.

On the first Friday of each month, DOM hosts a community event with local performance groups, musical acts and nonprofit partners. These events are broadcast live on Comcast Channel 57 in Denver as well as streamed on DOM’s website.  Events are cablecast and streamed live in Denver Open Media’s Studio A.

The event begins at 7:00 p.m., with the live show and concert beginning at 8:00 p.m. Join us for this FREE event, complete with food and drinks!
