Denver Eclectic Concerts presents Boulder Bassoon Quartet for its April event. Concert takes place 7:00-9:00 p.m., Thursday, April 14th at Baur’s Listening Lounge, 1512 Curtis Street in downtown Denver.

Boulder Bassoon Quartet has impressed a wide audience with engaging performances since 2006. They play everything from the Beatles to Bach, jazz to pop, and even arrange music upon request. Having performed in diverse Colorado venues from the Governor’s Mansion to the Stanley Hotel to the Pearl Street Mall, the Quartet — Michael Christoph, Kent Hurd, Brian Jack and Ethan Turner — is dedicated to expanding the repertoire for bassoon quartet in a variety of genres through new arrangements and original compositions. In 2011, they premiered Kent Hurd’s new piece, “So Cliche,” at the International Double Reed Society convention in Tempe, Arizona. Recently, the Quartet has undertaken an ambitious project resulting in new works by award-winning composers, world premieres, community outreach, a debut album, and a tour to Tokyo in August 2015. Join us for what promises to be a truly unique evening!

This is a joint production between Denver Eclectic Concerts and Music Appreciation Society (the not-for-profit concert presenter at Baur’s Listening Lounge).
