Each show features 5 musicians or groups for a 25 minute set. The show is run “Old Time Opry Style” — we sound check at 6:00 p.m. and run the show straight through. Often performers jump in and accompany others groups (with their permission of course!)

FUNDRAISER FOR THE HOME FRONT CARES – RED, WHITE & BLUE NEW YEAR’S EVE

A Music Company, Inc., is bringing legendary rock and rollers Edgar Winter and Rick Derringer to Colorado Springs City Auditorium, 221 East Kiowa St., Colorado Springs, on December 31, 2014. The event is a fundraiser for The Home Front Cares and is being billed as “Red, White and Blue New Year’s Eve 2014.” Opening the show will be local favorite Big Jim Adam. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the show starts at 7:00 p.m.

The Home Front Cares, a 501 (c)3,  provides emergency and responsive support and grants for Colorado’s service members, veterans and family members who have been impacted by deployment in harm’s way. Since 2003 The Home Front Cares has raised more than five million dollars to assist families with rent or mortgage payments, utilities and other essential life expenses. A Music Company Inc. will donate a portion of proceeds to this worthy cause. http://www.TheHomeFrontCares.org

Edgar Winter is most well-known for his million selling record, “Frankenstein”, released in 1973 and still a favorite on oldies radio stations today! Rolling Stone magazine lists it as one of the top 25 best rock instrumentals of all time! Edgar’s other hits include “Free Ride” and “Tobacco Road”. In the 1970’s Winter started a collaboration with Rick Derringer who would act as his producer and member of his band. Major national television and radio campaigns have used Winter’s music to advertise their products. Winter has also made frequent television appearances, both to promote his music, and to give his opinions. He has appeared on Politically Incorrect  and appeared in a commercial with George Hamilton for Miller Lite beer. He has also appeared in the film Netherworld and the TV shows The Cape, Mysterious Ways, David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

Rick Derringer started his career while still in high school as a member of the The McCoys. Their best known song was “Hang On Sloopy”, which was #1 in the United States in October 1965 and is the official rock song of the state of Ohio. Derringer also recorded and played with a version of Johnny Winter’s band called “Johnny Winter And …” and both Edgar Winter’s White Trash and The Edgar Winter Group. He played on the band’s Grammy nominated instrumental single “Frankenstein”, which topped the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart for a week starting in May 1973, and sold over one million copies. His solo hits were “Still alive and Well” and Teenage Love Affair”. In the 1980s, Derringer expanded his producing skills, working with “Weird Al” Yankovic, Cynde Lauper and Steeley Dan.

Big Jim Adam has been a favorite on the Colorado Springs music scene for the past twenty years. He has had two of his songs,”100 Reasons” and “Open Door Policy” recorded by Edgar Winter for the movie Netherworld. Jim recorded the background sound track music for the PBS documentary For the Love of Liberty-the Story of America’s Black Patriots and had one song “Vale of Slavery” on the sound track album. Now residing in Florida, Big Jim Adam, a former United States Marine, is the perfect opening act for “Red White & Blue New Year’s Eve 2014”.

Tickets for the event are priced $35 general admission, $60 reserved table seating with dinner and $100 for VIP which includes reserved loge seating, dinner and a “Meet and Greet”.

General admission tickets are available at The Coffee Exchange (cash only), 526 S Tejon St. Colorado Springs. All tickets are available at http://www.AMusicCompanyInc.com as well.
