Info below. || From Gina Jet Ortiz on Fb, 5/21/19: We are still processing the news we received yesterday and, with great sadness, we regret to inform you that our patriarch Allan Roth passed away peacefully Monday, May 20th at age 79 with family and friends by his side. Allan was a visionary business man, an iconic pioneer in the music world, a loving father, grandfather and family man, and a compassionate friend to many. Our heart-felt condolences go out to his family.

David Stasney: This one really sucks. Allan Roth with Christopher Thomas, literally gave me my first shot in Colorado (in early 2009), when others wouldn’t. The then band was Guitar Villians Live Band Karaoke which eventually grew big. I’ll never forget it. The level of bands he brought in over the decades are legendary. Not sure what else I can say that hasn’t and won’t be said. RIP man.
DENVER, CO (Celebrity Access) — Allan Roth, the son of the founder and owner of the long-running Denver live music venue Herman’s Hideaway, has died. He was 79.
Roth’s death was announced by his colleagues at the venue:
We are still processing the news we received yesterday, and with great sadness, we regret to inform you that our patriarch Allan Roth passed away peacefully Monday, May 20th at age 79 with family and friends by his side. Allan was a visionary businessman, an iconic pioneer in the music world, a loving father, grandfather and family man, and a compassionate friend to many. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family at this time as more information becomes available.
Roth’s father Herman founded Herman’s Hideaway in 1962 and Allen joined him in operating the venue in 1982 after operating his own successful bar and a talent agency.
With Allan on board, the Hideaway became a fixture in the Denver music scene, providing a stage for more than 32,000 bands over the years, including acts such as Phish, Widespread Panic, Blues Traveler, Faith No More, and Janes Addiction.
Herman passed away in 1999 and Allen’s own son Michael came aboard, helping with the day-to-day at the venue.
A cause of death for Roth was not disclosed, but he had previously battled colon cancer.
Funeral services for Roth are planned for Thursday, May 23rd at 3:30 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery in Commerce City, CO.
