Michael Edward Tamkin, Dave Tamkin’s father, passes
Dave Tamkin: I write this in regards to my Dad peacefully passing away this week surrounded by his family. I will truly miss his wit, his laugh & the love he always showed our family.
I’m proud to be his son.
Michael Edward Tamkin – January 31, 1949 – January 17, 2019
Michael Edward Tamkin, 69, of Mount Prospect, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday January 17, 2019. Born on January 31, 1949 in Chicago, the son of the late Edward and Marjorie (Adams) Tamkin. Mike grew up in Chicago and was a graduate of DePaul Academy in 1967. He graduated from University of Illinois Chicago in 1971, majoring in art with a degree in graphic design. Mike is survived by his wife Verna (nee Scallon) Tamkin – they shared more than 47 years of happiness. He was a loving father to his children, Dave (Anne) Tamkin, James (Erin) Tamkin, Matthew Tamkin, Alana (Stephan) Dietz; and grandfather to Daelyn Dietz, Vera Dietz, Tre Tamkin, Michael Tamkin & Jolie Tamkin. He was a man who loved his family dearly. Visitation was held January 21, 2019 at the Kristan Funeral Home in Illinois; Services on January 22nd, followed by interment at the St. Michael the Archangel Cemetary in Palatine, IL.
