Congratulations|

Professor (Yes — “professor”) Tommy Harrison

From Tommy Harrison, 4/18/18: This is my last week, of my first year, in my return to the University of Central Florida. This has been the best, absolute best, year of my 20-year academic career.

But today, this great year was capped by a public announcement in a meeting with my colleagues. Starting in the Fall 2018 term, I will be serving in an expanded role as an Associate Director for the School of Performing Arts at UCF. I am very humbled and excited for the opportunity. It is the right position for me, at the right time, in my career that has been filled with continued growth that I so appreciate.

My Entertainment Management class in the Rosen College of Hospitality Management will continue, as well as my Music Technology class, and soon to be offered Music Entrepreneurship and Hard Rock and Heavy Metal of the 1980s classes.

I am “Facebook Friends” with a lot of former students, and current and former colleagues (I have shied away from current students since coming to UCF by my own choice). I would like to thank all of those academic friends for contributing to my growth as a professor. For everyone else, thanks for your help in my growth as a human. I am not taking this honor for granted, and I am excited at the chance to return to administrative duties.

Thanks again.
