COMBO’s May General Meeting – CANCELED: After much consideration, COMBO has decided to cancel its General Meeting originally set for Sunday, May 17th. Please plan on attending the Rocky Mountain Bass Slam or maybe watching the Billboard Music Awards scheduled for the same night! Or even better, support your local live bands wherever they are playing!

We do have some special events planned for the summer including a tour of the new Colorado Music Hall of Fame, participation in the Guitar Show and Custom Luthier Expo, the Underground Music Showcases, and hope you will join us for them. And don’t forget to support your favorite local band at the People’s Fair being held in Civic Center Park on Saturday and Sunday, June 6th & 7th .

Fundraiser for Ron Myers of Vintage Pianos – Saturday, May 23rd

Have you missed hearing Warren play? Do you enjoy a good meal with friends? Do you like doing both and supporting piano people? Have I got a deal for you!

Some of you may already know Ron Myers, owner of Vintage Pianos. We do a lot of work with and for Ron. He has been saving marvelous antique pianos from landfills even longer than we have. Ron is in poor health and has been in the VA hospital for many weeks now. He won’t be able to continue his backbreaking work with these gentle giants anymore. He also has medical bills stacking up. We would like to help him out with a benefit dinner. Warren and other friends of Ron will be providing the entertainment. Even if you can’t join us for the event, any contribution would be greatly appreciated.

When: Saturday, May 23rd
Where: Our Savior Lutheran Church, 6770 Monaco Parkway, Commerce City 80022
Time: 11:00 – 1:00 p.m.
Cost: $10/person

If you can’t make it that day….. You can still support the cause by sending a check to:
Ron Myers
c/o American Classic Piano
3104 W Jefferson Ave
Sheridan, CO 80110

Incentive: Since I’m usually giving away Warren’s work, I thought I’d give away mine this time. For any check we receive for $50 or more, I will do an insurance appraisal for your homeowners insurance (usually $100) based on piano information in our files.

If you have an interest in old pianos with character, talk to Ron or us about what he might have. He is trying to liquidate his inventory. Even if it’s not finished, we can help with that. This is a team. See Ron’s page below with his team of friends and associates. Warren and I are even there.

These are very challenging times for Ron. Anything you can do would mean the world to him and his wife. I always say that piano people are the best. Prove me right.

Thank you.
Ron’s friends, Warren and Holly

Soaps, Shampoos, etc., Needed for Homeless

Got a bunch of those little bottle of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, or little soaps laying around that you brought home from your stays in hotels and motels? Annette Cannon reminded us that she really could use those to help stuff care bags for the homeless.

Please bring them to the next COMBO event. We’ll have a booth at the Guitar Show so we’ll be glad to “recycle” them for you. And if you don’t have any now, how ‘bout picking them up the next time you go out of town and bring them back with you. Betcha you never thought of giving them to help out less fortunate people.
