The Colorado Symphony’s 2015/16 season opens Friday, September 18 at Boettcher Concert Hall in downtown Denver. More than forty distinct programs in the 2015/16 season showcase the virtuosity of one of the finest orchestras in the United States while appealing to the broad interests and appetites of Colorado audiences. 2015/16 subscriptions are currently available for renewal by existing subscribers through April 15. New subscribers enjoy a range of benefits including priority seating, discounts of up to twenty percent, and convenient ticket exchange options. Single tickets went on sale to the general public on Monday, Aug. 3rd.

GWEN BURAK APPOINTED CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER OF SWALLOW HILL MUSIC

Swallow Hill Music has appointed Gwen Burak as Chief Operating Officer of the 36-year-old Denver nonprofit and home to folk, roots, and bluegrass music. Her new position became effective June 1st.

For the past five years, Ms. Burak has served as Director of Marketing at Swallow Hill Music, and has been a crucial figure in driving the organization’s brand development and revenue growth. She was successful in restructuring the marketing department, implementing research tools to evaluate mission fulfillment and introducing technologies that greatly expanded the organization’s internet presence and digital marketing capacities.

Additionally, Ms. Burak has brought a sense of joy inherent in shared music to Swallow Hill Music over the past five years. She served as Acting Chief Executive Officer during a six-month search period earlier last year and was praised by the Swallow Hill Music Board of Directors for her outstanding performance.

Prior to her tenure at Swallow Hill Music, Ms. Burak served in various brand marketing and general management positions at The Quaker Oats Company and Celestial Seasonings/The Hain Celestial Group.  She graduated magna cum laude from Brown University with a degree in International Relations.

Lindsay Taylor has filled Ms. Burak’s former role as Director of Marketing for Swallow Hill Music, and the organization will be adding an additional Marketing staff member in September.
