Thoughts and Prayers|

Robert “Brother Rob” Bangert – is in the hospital. Sheila Byars reports that Brother Rob has something called Guillian-Barre Syndrome, where the body’s immune system attacks the central nervous system. He’s still in ICU but seems to be doing better now with treatment. Thank you all so much for the prayers and kind words of support!

Sheila says that “he is in good spirits, but still can’t move very good. The doctor said he will be in ICU for a couple more days then they will move him to a regular room. The doctor said if he didn’t come back to the hospital after “Lutheran Hospital sent him home” it could have gotten to his lungs and [he would have] died. It’s not contagious, and started from a virus. He will be there for at least another week. I will give everyone an update then. Rob sends his love and thanks to everyone for their thoughts and he just wants to get some sleep. Rob is asking for no visitors at this time to recover – he also can’t hold the phone. And a Special Thanks to Greg. Francis and Christine for watching over him for me when I can’t. And to all the sound people who came to help to make sure Robert was covered at Cheers Club, and please keep in contact with him just in case he needs someone, because we are not sure when Brother Rob will be out. Thank all for the prayers and love sent and seeing them all. Its very overwhelming and nice to see.”

From Sheila Byars on Facebook, 01/22/15: [The] St. Anthony’s discharge planner called Robert’s mom Sylvia today and said they didn’t have any beds in their rehab section and had to transfer him to Porter Rehabilitation. It’s farther away but I have heard good things about the place. What a difference a week makes and, to everyone going though their own crap, thanks for taking time out for him. I do pay attention to all of you, too. You’re are all very important. Try to hang in there and be positive. Things do get better. Prayers and thoughts to all.
