COMA General Policies
- The COMA Board
of Directors prefers not to endorse any activities which require
us to pick and choose among our members.
- COMA does not
wish to duplicate the efforts of our members. For example: Instead
of starting up our own booking agency, we connect member musicians
and venues with established booking agencies who are also COMA members.
- COMA supports
the rights of all musical artists to get paid for their works, in
all forms, including live performances and recordings.
- Monthly meetings
of the Colorado Music Association and their content are copyrighted
by the Colorado Music Association for the private use of its members
and its audience. Private and non-commercial use of photographs,
videos and sound recordings of the meetings are granted without
required authorization. Any other uses of any other visual and/or
sound medium are prohibited without the express written consent
of the Colorado Music Association.
COMA General Procedures
Announcements from COMA:
Because we only have so much room in
our email announcements we cannot possibly announce every upcoming
gig or every music related event. To that end we have created
the following guidelines to help us determine what goes into our Announcements
from COMA.
- The Announcement should be of general
interest to our members
- The Announcement should involve at
least one COMA member.
- We will announce our various Committee
Meetings, Updates and Events.
- We will announce events where card
carrying COMA members get a discount or other exclusive bonus not
available to the general public (such as, COMA members get in free
or at reduced cost). (This applies to business announcements too)
- We will announce Member accomplishments.
- We will not announce anything that
we don't know about. That means you have to tell us what's
going on, our Volunteers don't have the time to hunt this stuff
down. If you have something you would like to have included
in the COMA announcements, please Click
Here
- If you wish to receive the email announcements
from COMA, please Click Here
and use the words "Put Me On Your Elist" in the subject
line.
Announcements at COMA Meetings:
In an effort to keep meeting times
on schedule (so the bands can play on time) and to keep them interesting
to the widest variety of participants, We limit the number of general
announcements made at our meetings, whenever possible, to those from
COMA committees. We ask those of you wishing to make announcements
to submit them by email to Announcements@ColoradoMusic.org
for inclusion in the email announcements (see above). Our
emails go out to over 2,000 people while most meetings have 250 or
fewer participants. Commonly, you can reach more people via
COMA email announcements than you can at a meeting.
If you would like to make an announcement
at our next meeting, please use the same email address and indicate
if you are a member of a COMA committee so we can consider placing
you on the agenda. If we do not have your request well in advance
of the next meeting we cannot guarantee you a spot on the agenda.
Barcodes
To get your COMA barcode, please follow
this simple procedure:
Note: You must already be a COMA member to get a barcode.
Barcodes will NOT be issued until you follow the procedure
below.
It may take 2 -3 weeks from the time a member joins to the issuance
of a barcode via email because COMA is a volunteer organization with
no paid staff members.
- Follow this link: Click
Here
- Fill out the form. You will
need your COMA Member #, Artist Name, Album Title, Estimated release
date, Format (CD, vinyl, tape, etc...), Record Label (If you have
one), email Address, and the name of the graphics software program
your artwork is being generated on.
- Please note that each COMA member
is entitled to only 1 (one) free barcode per year. (That's one per
band, not one per band member) Additional barcodes are available
at $50/each.
- You will receive your barcode via
email within a few days from our Volunteer Barcode
Administrator.
-
After
you get your barcode you must place it on the packaging of your
CD with the COMA logo nearby. It should look like this:
Click here for a suitable COMA logo you can
download and use on your packaging.
-
Download
this Soundscan form, fill it
out, and fax it in, so they know that a barcode is assigned to
your CD.
