Sweet Adelines International – Las Vegas, NV 2016

The Heartsong Foundation provides an opportunity for young ladies in the Denver area who might not have a choir at school, at church, or in the neighborhood. If you’re looking for a fun and supportive place to build friendships, learn vocal skills and singing technique, gain musical knowledge, and perform with choreography, Heartsong Singers is for you! If you are between the ages of 12 and 25, come join us for an educational day of singing, dancing, and fun!

The Skyline Heartsong Foundation board is appointed by and reports to the management team of Skyline Chorus.

All Skyline rehearsals are open. We’d love to have you join us!

Rehearsals are every Tuesday from 7-9:30 p.m. at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 4610 E. Alameda Ave, Denver, Colorado

Directed by the dynamic and talented Vickie Maybury, the ladies of Skyline enjoy a love of singing and an enthusiasm for sharing the joy of music. The chorus is the 2016 4th Place International Medalist and sports a repertoire that includes gospel, pop, show tunes, old ballads that tug at your heartstrings and of course traditional barbershop melodies.

A Denver-based chapter of Sweet Adelines International, Skyline began with 20 singers in 1962 and now enjoys more than 140 members. Region 8 Champions in 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015 & most recently in 2017, Skyline has also competed at the international level. Under Vickie’s direction, the chorus placed 4th in the world at the 2016 Sweet Adelines International (SAI) Convention in Las Vegas. 5th in 2014 in Baltimore, 4th in 2012 in Denver, 5th in 2010 in Seattle, 4th in 2008 in Hawaii, 4th in 2006 in Las Vegas, and 2nd in the 2004 competition in Indianapolis.

Women of all ages and backgrounds make up the Skyline Chorus. We are: high school/college students, dancers, actors, teachers, doctors, lawyers, engineers, homemakers, grandmothers/mothers/daughters and we have a spot on the risers for you! Under the leadership of our gifted director, Vickie Maybury, we meet weekly to hone our craft and to create harmony. We invite you to stop in on a Tuesday night for our rehearsal or come to one of our performances to experience the enthusiasm and positive energy “live” and in person.

Denver Children’s Choir Helps Fill Some Gaps With Music

The former teachers who run the non-profit Denver Children’s Choir work with a group of schools which don’t have music education, teaching children basic singing and choreography, and giving them the chance to advance to a performance choir. Plus: an art museum dedicated to images of men and women at work in industry; landscape painting in the Catskills; a popular tap dance troupe in Ohio. AD610
