MIAMI, FL (Dec. 8, 2016) — The Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation® announced today that applications are now open for the Gifted Tuition Scholarship and the Tuition Assistance Scholarship. Music students who face financial constraints, and who are interested in Latin music, are eligible to apply. The Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation will distribute 43 awards totaling up to $700,000, in an effort to foster the next generation of extraordinarily talented musicians who will continue the legacy of Latin music and its significant contribution to the world’s culture.

The Gifted Tuition Scholarships provide monetary support to a maximum of three talented students. The maximum amount awarded for these scholarships is $25,000 annually for four years, for up to a $100,000 per student. The Tuition Assistance Scholarships will be given to bachelor’s degree students at music institutions approved by the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation. Up to 40 students will be selected and awarded a maximum of $10,000 each.

Scholarship beneficiaries will be chosen, from a highly competitive international pool of candidates by a committee of music experts. Selected applicants will be awarded with substantial financial assistance to study at a music institution of their choice, with the Latin GRAMMY Foundation’s approval.

Applications are now available at www.latingrammyculturalfoundation.com. The deadline to apply is April 10, 2017, by 11:59 p.m. ET. Students from the following 24 countries are encouraged to apply: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Spain, United States, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
