Opera Colorado in the planning stages!

By Kyle Harris, Westword | The notion of performing in an opera might have always seemed a little out of reach. Until now. Opera Colorado is holding open auditions for Denver-area singers to join the chorus in three productions during the 2019-2020 season: Rossini’s The Barber of Seville, Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci and Puccini’s Tosca, all of which will be performed at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House.

The auditions run from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, at the Opera Colorado Center, 4121 South Navajo Street, Suite 100, in Englewood.

The company’s choir master, Sahar Nouri, will be there to judge aspiring singers. Men and women are welcome to participate, but Nouri will be looking for tenors, baritones and basses, in particular.
