THE DEAD AND DYING HAVE NO DREAMS | My friend Ted died today. I tried talking to him on the phone a few times…
But he sounded so weak and unlike his normal self.
We could only discuss the past, as he had no future.
Not having a future makes all the difference, you know.
No one has much time for the dying.
There are too many living things to do.
I don’t think that it is unconcern or self-centeredness
That makes us shy away from the dying,
But the lack of a common future and dreams.
Dreams, I think are the best traits of the living.
The dead and dying have no dreams.
