Thoughts and Prayers|

Ed Carroll, guitarist, songwriter, formerly of Pale Spirit

Ed Carroll, husband and best friend to Karen Jacovetta Carroll for 31 years, lost his battle for life on Friday morning, December 16, 2016, 5 days before his 67th birthday. He died peacefully and very unexpectedly in his sleep in a loving rehab center while recovering from a recent fall.

Karen is in need of financial aid due to the cost of cremation, a memorial service for his friends and family, out-of-pocket medical expenses (insurance only covered a portion), rent, other expenses that have added up while Ed was hospitalized off and on during the last 6 months, and time off from her job. No other insurance monies are available. Ed also leaves behind his faithful dog Frisko and Kit-ten who will need food and vet care as well.

Your financial support in any amount will be greatly appreciated. Help spread the word! Even $5 to $10 adds up to help Karen get on her feet again. After the downturn in the economy and, by now, you all realize that a sudden, catastrophic illness or injury can wipe-out a family’s savings and emergency funds and that it what has happened here. So please help out as best you can.

[Editor’s note: Ed was the lead guitarist for the band Pale Spirit for years. They played many shows around the Denver and northern Colorado area, and Ed was always so cheerful and up-beat. He wrote songs and loved recording them in his home studio. His bands played both covers and originals and they were great for bringing crowds who loved to dance. We wish you the best, Ed, in your new journey.]

Prayers Needed for Bryce Feist and Family in the Loss of His Parents

From Don DiMasi on Facebook, 12/29/16:
I just have to say that watching a brother and his family go through such horrible pain with grace and strength is an inspiration. I got the call yesterday from Bryce Feist about losing both of his parents in a bad car accident, and it broke my heart. And I admit that it was rough for all of us in Vivid Black, too. His Mom and Dad had been to many of our shows and were always a joy to have around. Bryce would be beaming when they came in. He’d grab me and say “Come say hi!”. It’s very obvious where he got his strong sense of family and his strong faith. Bryce’s pals are hurting with him because he and his family are hurting. You never, ever want a friend to get that call. Bryce made the decision last night that he wanted to play on NYE. Not out of a sense of obligation, though. Because we had several pals step up to help us find a way to do the show, we had a sub lined up for the night. He wanted to play because he wanted to honor his Dad and be surrounded by the Vivid Black extended family. You get a glimpse of someone’s strength and character when they face adversity. I can’t imagine anything much more adverse than this situation. Watching the strength of this family has given me even more respect for each of them. I know they’ll survive this, even though it won’t be without very painful moments. They’ll survive it because his Mom and Dad set the example for them. God bless you and the whole family, Bryce.
