Thoughts and Prayers|

The beautiful Amy Kress was one of 2015’s COMBO Songwriting Contest winners!

From COMBO Member Amy Kress on Fb, 7/09/17: For 6 years I’ve been living with breast cancer. 6 years it has quietly been running in the background, coloring perceptions and tainting my outlook.

Then, someone asked me the other day “What would you do if you DIDN’T have cancer.” It’s been so long since I was diagnosed that I’ve forgotten to think that way. In fact I can’t even remember asking myself that. “What would I do if I didn’t have cancer?”

Possibilities exploded and I suddenly saw the ways I didn’t realize I was holding myself back. How many blocks have I created without even noticing? I didn’t see all the ways I was limiting myself. So crazy.

SO…. I’m going to live like I don’t have cancer, mostly because it’s more fun and the possibilities are endless. Stay tuned.

Comment from Janine Siddall: You might as well, Amy, because at the end of the day no one is assured of a long life. Any one of us can be gone in an instant, take every moment and live it to the fullest, dream and dance and sing your heart out

Loretta Lynn Cancels 2017 Tour Dates, Postpones New Album Release

After suffering a stroke in May, country music icon Loretta Lynn has canceled all of her 2017 tour dates. She has also postponed the release of her upcoming album, Wouldn’t It Be Great, which was originally due out August 18. In a new statement, Lynn says, “My main focus now is making a full recovery so that I can get back to putting all of me into what I love, sharing my music with all of you.” She continues, “I am getting stronger every day and can’t wait to get back out there with all of you. I’m just letting everybody know that Willie ain’t dead yet and neither am I, and I can’t wait to see all of you on the road!” Read her full statement below. Lynn’s last album was 2016’s Full Circle.

Thank you so much for all of your prayers, love, and support. I’m happy to say that I’m at home with my family and getting better by the day! My main focus now is making a full recovery so that I can get back to putting all of me into what I love, sharing my music with all of you. My new album, Wouldn’t It Be Great, was originally scheduled to come in August this year. I now want to wait to release it next year because this record is so special for me. It deserves me at my best and I can’t wait to share it. I want to thank everyone for hanging in there with me. I am getting stronger every day and can’t wait to get back out there with all of you. I’m just letting everybody know that Willie ain’t dead yet and neither am I, and I can’t wait to see all of you on the road!
