A list of "average" Colorado band names

Like most good patrons of Herman's Hideaway, I receive from
David Barber (Herman's webmaster with Commotion Promotion)
the email he sends out every Sunday announcing the bands
which will be playing at Herman's during the coming week.
Perhaps unlike most of you however, I've kept every single
one of these emails as grist for input to a "travesty
generator" computer program written in Perl. This program
generates new, pseudo-random output that statistically
resembles whatever letter combinations are fed into it.
The results are often interesting--to say the least.
I took David's emails from January 25,2004 through July
25,2004, stripped them down to just the band names,
converted all names to lowercase letters, and eliminated
duplicates. I then "fed" this list into the travesty
generator and had it spew out 8-10 printed pages of
"averaged" band names.
Next I read through all of it, and circled the ones I
found funny or interesting. I tried not to pick on any one
band unfairly, nor did I favor anybody(I play in the band
Irie Still). I tried to be sure that none of these newly-
generated names were in the original input list.
I did not adjust or alter any of the output--much though I
wanted to in some cases. I did very rarely add an obvious
bit of punctuation, like an apostrophe or a question
mark inside parentheses (like this!).
Here are the results of the "3-scans" and "2-scans". I hope
that you find them amusing--particularly if you play in a
band which has performed at Herman's Hideaway within
this time period.
