Public Service Announcements

PSA's are accepted by radio, tv, magazine and newspaper. The important things to include are "who, what, where, when, and why". It is a good idea to try and establish a relationship with the media -- try to contact each reporter and introduce yourself and find out how they prefer PSA's to be sent (e-mail, mail, fax). PSA's should be written in the general format of a press release, only with Public Service Announcement at the top. Be sure to include all of your contact information at the top of the page. They should be clear and direct. For radio or T.V. announcements, time the PSA to be 10, 15, 30 or 60 seconds and write it in a talking style. It is not a bad idea to submit two different versions of the PSA, such as one that is 15 seconds and one that is 30.
