Part of IMAGINE 2020 and our Equity, Diversity & Inclusion work, we present a conversation on integrating anti-racism into your organization.
On Aug, 3, 1-2:30 p.m., please join Denver Arts & Venues, the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation and The Equity Project LLC as we discuss the necessary work organizations must commit to in order to be anti-racist.
This virtual, moderated discussion with Tariana Navas-Nieves – Director, Cultural Affairs, Denver Arts & Venues, and Nita Mosby-Tyler – Chief Catalyst, The Equity Project LLC, and moderator Gary Steuer – President & CEO, Bonfils-Stanton Foundation will be hosted on Zoom – a link will be provided to participants upon registration.
The conversation will be framed around what organizations can do to take action with regards to Race and Social Justice. Additional questions will be requested prior to the event.
Register for this FREE panel discussion.
In preparation for the session, participants are encouraged to view the recording of the IMAGINE 2020 Speaker Series: Equity, Diversity and Inclusion 101. https://vimeo.com/370367348
This discussion will also center on the topics of how to bring explicit conversations about equity, diversity and inclusion to your team; how to bring diversity values to your staff and board through proactive recruitment and hiring processes, role building, development, job descriptions, performance management, goal setting and more; how to improve diversity strategies in programming; how to combat skepticism; how to transition to a culture of equity and inclusion, balancing equity as a whole and not tokenizing or becoming focused on just one marginalized group; how to begin this work and how to sustain it through ongoing action and systemic change, and keep issues of race and social justice top-of-mind; and how to become a resource for others who are already doing this work or want to start this work.
We will also discuss best practices and outline research done on the benefits of including equity, diversity and inclusion training, and the ROI for equity work.
