By Robert Pasbani, Metal Injection | Misfits drummer Joey Image has sadly passed away at the age of 63. The New York Hardcore Chronicles Facebook page was the first to report it.
Joey revealed he had liver cancer in 2016 and had been battling it since, seeking treatment at the University of Miami. He noted on a GoFundMe fundraiser to raise money for his treatments that he was a candidate for a liver transplant.
Joey performed on the classic Misfits EP Horror Business, the Beware EP, and the “Night of the Living Dead” single during his time with the band between 1978 and 1980. He briefly rejoined the band for a performance in 2000.
