A lot of people have been getting songs cut lately as independent songwriters and publishers.  Our pal Jim Carolan recently visited the Monday Songpreneur Meetup and shared his experience having the #2 Billboard Dance Song of the week with artist Martha Wash [with co-writer Brandy Anderson] “I’m Not Coming Down.”

How do you get songs cut as an independent?  The short answer – good old fashioned hard work.  Business skill.  Following through.  Taking care of your responsibilities and not thinking someone else is going to to it for you.

But, how to you do the paperwork part after you get a song cut?  What are the steps you need to take when the artist sends you the licensing request?
