A publicist for Jack White says the rocker is canceling his remaining tour dates in Mexico after the death of his band’s keyboard player Isaiah “Ikey” Owens.

The statement said Owens, 38, died Tuesday morning in Mexico. Owens was from Long Beach, California, but had recently moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to perform with White’s band. The cause of death is under investigation.

The band was scheduled to perform in Guadalajara on Tuesday and Monterrey on Wednesday.

Owens also played in other bands, including Mars Volta and Free Moral Agents. “We will all miss you Ikey,” the band said in a statement. “You were and are an incredible artist.”

White has been on the road behind his new album “Lazaretto.”

REVEILLE 3 HOSTS HOMECOMING PARTY BY SHOWING THEIR STUFF!

The ladies of Reveille 3 hosted a celebration party on Saturday, October 11th at The Laundry on 27th & Lawrence. They presented a slide and video show of their recent trip overseas for the 70th Commemoration of D-Day, and even sang a couple of songs to the delight of their friends and patrons. Reveille 3 threw a Kickstarter campaign which raised most of the funds they needed to get over to France and back! They spent 11 glorious days touring and singing the wonderful songs of the Andrews Sisters and really impressing the people gathered for the events celebrating the freeing of the French towns from the Germans in World War II.

This hot trio has been bringing cool nostalgic sounds and charming choreography to packed performances since 2009. Captivating audiences with precision harmonies and swingin’ vocal rhythms, Reveille 3 is at their very best singing the songs we all cherish, made popular by the Andrews Sisters. Their engaging and heart-warming shows will transport you to an era of war bonds, rations and scrap drives, winning the hearts of young and old alike!

About the 70th Commemoration of D-Day!

Exciting news! Reveille 3 has been selected to represent Allied Forces of WWII at the 70th Commemoration of D-Day. As one of a handful of performance groups selected for this honor, will be in performing in collaboration with the Alexandria Harmonizers, a 105-member men’s barbershop chorus, with shows in and around the Normandy area this June 2014.

Performances include Normandy American Cemetery, Utah and Omaha Beaches, Sainte-Mère-Église Parade and Community Concert, Notre-Dame Cathedral, Luxembourg Gardens, plus the Cologne Cathedral and a collaborative concert on the Cologne River with the BiNG Barbershop Chorus of Cologne, Germany (produced separately by BiNG).

The commemoration events are being organized by the American Battlefields and Monuments Commission (ABMC), within the US Department of the Interior, who provide oversight for events like the 70th Anniversary of the D-Day landings. The AMBC is using the American Musical Salute (AMS) company to coordinate the events in the area.

The ABMC and AMS do not provide any financial assistance to selected performing groups. Thus we are embarking on a multi- faceted fundraising campaign including an online crowdfunding campaign, Spring 2014 fundraising concert tour of Colorado plus we are accepting private donations and sponsorships, with tax deductible options available.

We wanted to start getting the word out there about this amazing opportunity for Reveille 3 to represent Colorado, the US and Allied Forces this summer at this historic event. We’ll keep you posted as to how you can help us get to Normandy!

As always, thanks for your support and we look forward to seeing your smiling face at a concert! Reveille 3

GREEN DAY, NINE INCH NAILS, N.W.A. AMONG ROCK HALL NOMINEES

(CNN) — The next class inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame could include punk rockers Green Day, the influential Nine Inch Nails and seminal rap group N.W.A.

Those are just three of the 15 acts that are nominated for induction into the institution in 2015.

Others include Joan Jett and the Blackhearts; Lou Reed; The Smiths; The Spinners; Sting; Chic; Kraftwerk; The Marvelettes; Bill Withers; War; Stevie Ray Vaughan; and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band.

In order to be eligible for nomination, a music act had to release its first recording in 1989 or earlier. According to Billboard, that means Green Day and Nine Inch Nails are up for induction in their first year of eligibility. Nine Inch Nails’ first album, “Pretty Hate Machine,” marks its 25th anniversary this month, and Green Day’s EP “1,000 Hours” dropped in April 1989.

The Smiths, Withers, Vaughan and Sting are newcomers to the ballot as well. (Sting was previously inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame as a member of Police but is now up for induction as a solo artist.)

This eclectic group of 2015 nominees “represent the myriad places where rock and roll converges with blues, electronic, dance, Motown, R&B, funk and other genres,” Joel Peresman, the head of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, said in a statement. “Rock and roll incorporates the styles of so many different kinds of music and that’s what makes this group of nominees — and this art form — so powerful and unique.”

For the third year, fans will get their say in which acts they think should be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by voting on Rolling Stone’s website or at RockHall.com.

The 2015 class of inductees will be announced in December, followed by an induction ceremony in April 2015.

The 2014 Rock Hall class included Cat Stevens, Nirvana, KISS, Hall & Oates, Linda Ronstadt and Peter Gabriel.
