For me it was catching Lori McKenna in Boston on New Year’s eve 2003 long before she won her grammies. I remember her pride in being a singer/songwriter and also be raising four (now five) kids. I was VERY pregnant with my first at the time and felt hopeful hearing that.
Due to my moving to Israel and Covid, The Beating Hearts and I are in an unusual and very cool position. Normally, we drip new songs out as they come. Every time you hear us, you’ll hear us trying out a new song.
However, since we haven’t played together in two years, we now have a whole new album’s-worth of music that we haven’t yet performed!
We are going to debut this entire collection of songs on Tuesday, July 20th at a live show in Denver. This won’t be our usual polished event. This is going to be real and raw and imperfect as we birth this collection of songs into the world.
Don’t you want to be there!?
You’re not going to want to miss it as I am pretty sure – fingers crossed! – we’ll never be in this position again.
