Former COMBO board member Chris Guillot was announced as the CEC Educator of the Month at the Career Education Center (CEC) Early College, a magnet high school of the Denver Public School system, serving ninth through twelfth grades. Chris is also the owner, Audio Engineer and chief producer at Cherry Sound Recording Studios

Christopher Guillot is the Audio Engineering instructor at CEC. He brings a passion for Educating with Creativity and Technology, and diverse backgrounds of Audio, Music and Education. Before joining the teaching staff, he had a diverse background in audio engineering, and music business, and audiovisual fields. Throughout his career, he has worked with young people as well. As music program director at the Spot youth center, Art to Action Coordinator at http://www.Flobots.org, and Music Program Director at Street Fraternity. He owned and operated Cherry Sound LLC for 14 years which was a brick and mortar recording studio, that offered many services including Recording, Mixing, Mastering, Music Production, Sound Design, and Audio Forensics. Along with the studio audio business, he has also worked for years in the Production and Audio Visual fields as an A1. He graduated from CU Denver with a BSM in Audio Engineering and Music Business.

The Fred N. Thomas Career Education Center Middle College of Denver is an urban magnet high school located in northwest Denver near I-25 and Speer Boulevard in Denver, Colo., and has been providing students with real-life learning experiences in dozens of career-oriented courses since 1976. The full-time Middle College program began in the fall of 2003 with students attending from the entire Denver metro area. The curriculum is college preparatory, focusing on career and technology education.

CEC also has part-time students from the Denver metro area who participate in one of the twenty career classes offered on its Eliot Street campus. The career classes are an innovative way for high school students to earn academic credits towards a college degree or industry certification while completing DPS high school graduation requirements.
