Winners! Renée Elise Goldsberry, Daveed Diggs, Leslie Odom, Jr., from “Hamilton”, and Cynthia Eviro from “The Color Purple”.

On Sunday night, three actors from “Hamilton” and one from “The Color Purple” helped make history at the Tony Awards. Daveed Diggs, Leslie Odom Jr., and Renée Elise Goldsberry from Hamilton, and Cynthia Erivo became the first Black actors to win all four musical acting awards.

The Tony Awards made the announcement after the show on Sunday night to celebrate the momentous occasion.

Diggs took home the award for Best Actor in a Featured Role in a musical for “Hamilton.”

Odom Jr. took home the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical award, also for his role in “Hamilton.”

Goldsberry took home the award for Best Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical for “Hamilton.”

Rounding out the four is Erivo, who won the award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical award for “The Color Purple.”
