From Ben Mackinen: Ron D’Ascenz, a most elegant and lyrical Colorado jazz trumpet player passed away last week. I met Ron 30 years ago playing together in the Sam Bivens Big Band (the original Denver Jazz Orchestra). Ron could bring me to tears with his rendition of Darn That Dream… I love you Ron and will miss you. Safe Travels.

Ronald C. D’Ascenz passed away September 16, 2017. He is survived by many loving family members and friends. Ron was born May 4, 1929. He was preceded in death by his brother David as well as his parents. Ron was 88 years young. Ron lived in Lakewood, Colorado.

A Visitation was held Tuesday, September 26th and the Rosary immediately followed. A Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, September 27th at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4200 Federal Boulevard, Denver. Interment followed at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
