Brethren Fast

Photo: Brethren Fast (photo by Colleen Emory) From Tommy Nuhulu on Facebook: Brethren Fast, they were. Today we lost our brother Mik, last of the original power trio who rocked everything from big Denver clubs to backyard parties and won local music awards. Still, more important were the hearts they won as a reckless band of brothers who made you love being at their shows and who loved their place on stage.

I loved them like a brother, because they treated me like a brother.

Big love and big hugs to the family and friends of Mik ‘The Stick’ Messina.

Victoria Woodworth: Oh this breaks my heart. I remember opening for Brethren Fast at the Road Tavern a reeeeeaaallly long time ago now and they were so nice and funny as hell. Hard to believe we are so much stardust. Sending love to family and loved ones.

Mik was preceded in death by his brother Don “Dynomite” Messina who was killed in a car wreck on Lookout Mountain in August 2016.

Robby will always be in our souls, in our minds, and in our music. What he brought to us as bandmates, to the fans who attended our concerts, and to the sound of KANSAS, will always be heartfelt.
