From Annette Cannon on Fb, 02/02/16: My sweet dear friend Pattie Kresge is now at rest. My words can’t begin to explain my sorrow. I know she is at Peace. Glad I could spend some time with Pattie before she left. Love you, Pattie. Prayers for the family.

Shannon Redford Arnold (Pattie’s & Chris’ daughter): Pattie never found a church she felt comfortable in, and she hated the idea of any of you gathering for her in a funeral home. So this is what we, as her family, would like you to do in her honor:

Go find people to love. Give them hugs and do something nice for them. Play some music. Go see some music. And think about her when you do it. She’d like that.

And if you find it in your heart to want to donate, please do so to the Cancer Research Center at http://www.cancerresearch.org  If my mother could have fought longer, she would have.

Also, she wants to be a tree, so we are going to make that happen for her. You’ll be able to visit her tree this Spring. Details to follow.

From Chris K, Ms. Pattie’s husband regarding the benefit set for the family: Hey, guys. This is an absolute RSVP event. It is a catered event with hors d’oeuvres, dessert and drinks included in the ticket price and the promoter needs to be able to tell her caterer how many people to plan for … Please contact the event organizer, Megan Andrea Flotten at  https://www.facebook.com/megan.flotten
for information about the silent auction and for any questions or concerns you might have.

This event will be as much a celebration and remembrance of her time in our scene as it is a celebration of the 10th anniversary of The Colorado Sound radio show – which she is directly responsible for helping to build over the years. She was proud that we hit ten years. Let’s do another ten in her honor.

Thank you to my friends The Subdudes, Chris Daniels, Megan Burtt, and Danny Shafer for performing … the show itself will be 90 minutes, so a lot of music for you to enjoy.

Please join me at this event

Brice Hancock: My friend Pattie Kresge died today from cancer. We knew it was going down so I drove up there a couple weeks ago to see her and Chris Kresge. I took Trace to meet her and took a couple selfies and talked to her for a little while. She had some funny political rants on Facebook – and she loved music and her family. She was always really nice to me and I’ll miss her. Anyway, I don’t need any condolences. It just sucks. You can go ahead and like this status as a show of support for the family and friends she left behind. K bye.

Erica Brown: I have no words right now. Pattie Kresge, one of the dearest, most beloved Women I have been blessed to call friend, transitioned today. Chris Kresge, sending you love today and keeping you close in prayer. Say “I Love You” to somebody today, folks, because you don’t know how much time you have.

Ryan Chrys: Thinking of you my friend, sending you all my love and light, you have been a joy and an inspiration each and every moment I’ve been able to share with you. You did great, you’re still doing great, and your gonna do great when you get to where you’re going. I love ya and will shine a light with your name wherever I go.

CAUSE OF JIMMY BAIN’S DEATH REVEALED

Mr. Bain was on the Def Leppard/Hysteria on the High Seas Cruise and had just performed that day with his new band Last in Line. He apparently passed sometime during the night. The other bands stepped up to fill in for him, especially Eric Brittingham (bassist, formerly of Cinderella). To add to the misery, Joe Elliott of Def Leppard lost his voice and was unable to perform. The other bands joined together and filled the shoes of both dearly loved musicians to keep the adage, “The show must go on”, for the attendees of the cruise.

Vivian Campbell on Fb, 02/02/16: I’m back at City of Hope this morning for another dose of the mighty ‘mab. Knowing what I now know, that Jimmy died of lung cancer, makes me realize even more just how lucky I am. Jimmy had no money and no health insurance, and as a result of that, the disease slowly ate away at him. I have insurance and access to great doctors and the best care. I’m one of the lucky ones and I continue to remain one step ahead of my Hodgie’s. It amazes me that Jimmy had X-rays for pneumonia in recent weeks, but yet no one noticed that he had chronic lung cancer. A sobering reminder that we all need to advocate for our own health.

That he remained strong to his last breath is an amazing testament to his character. Jimmy died with his boots on, doing what he loved to the end. The mighty ‘mab might have saved him, if only he’d known.
