I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to interview Denver based hard-rock band DYKOTOMY for an episode of LIVE @ Higher Ground. This series gives local and touring bands a professionally filmed and edited video with professionally mixed live sound recording. We started this series for two reasons:

1. To showcase musicianship in a way not often seen. LIVE @ Higher Ground gives the viewer a behind the scenes look at what it’s like to be in the studio with a band and what it takes to make that live performance great – LOTS of rehearsal. We want the viewer to see the personality behind the band members in a (sometimes) adult oriented way. We don’t ask the safe questions, we want the tour stories, the real meat and potatoes of what’s going on with a gigging band.

2. The other reason behind LIVE @ Higher Ground is to show Colorado-based and touring bands, that HGRS is more than a “practice space” We’re a state of the art rehearsal studio that cares about our local scene and it’s musicians. We take care of our bands in a way no other studio does, we want our bands to succeed in this industry in any capacity they can-from weekend warriors, hobbyists and full time musicians. HGRS is a place where musicians can sit and talk business after their rehearsal, ask questions, hang up their show posters and even collaborate with other bands.

COMBO BOARD MEMBER JAHNA EICHEL, WITH HIGHER GROUND ENTERTAINMENT, ASSISTS ‘WOMEN GIVE’

Women Give is a non-profit organization that aids single mothers in returning to school and becoming working, economy driving professionals in Northern Colorado. They are an off-shoot of the UnitedWay. The annual Women Give Luncheon raises awareness on the high cost of childcare in Larimer County and assists single mothers in covering that cost. 1,000 women were in that ballroom!
