Quote of the Week|

FROM JACKSON CAVENDAR ON FACEBOOK – 10/30/14 – Local AWESOME Guitarist and vocalist with the band FIVE 13: Some Perspective.

Just wanted to make something clear.

People who play in local bands, cover or original, are NOT ROCK STARS!

Rock Stars sell millions of songs, ride in buses or jets and have other people that load their equipment.

Although many would like to be Stars, the reality is that most of us are not talented enough.

I don’t buy the BS that we just didn’t get discovered by a record company and that’s why we are not stars.

True Rock Stars are stars for one reason. They were better! It’s that simple.

Most of us are average Joes that are fortunate enough to have the privilege to entertain people on our local scene.

We are no different than a mechanic, bartender, waitress, etc.

Just that playing music is our job.

Always remember that everyone is important, and only a few are more important than others [like] Doctors, nurses, and teachers.

Musicians are NOT in that special category.

Without the fans there would be nothing. You, the friends that take the time to come to the clubs and watch us, are what allows us to play music.

So thank you! You deserve the true adoration.
