Ryan Chrys – one of the winners of COMBO’s Songwriting Contest!

Sing It To Me Santa is an annual benefit for Denver Public Schools Foundation. The event occurred this past Saturday night at the Ogden Theater and featured guests Michael Franti, Isaac Slade of The Fray, local band Tracksuit Wedding, Governor Hickenlooper, Ryan Chrys, and more.

The event, now in its 3rd year, was conceived by Libby Anschutz as a method to raise money for the Denver Public Schools Foundation. Each year attendees have the option to purchase a sponsorship plan or to simply attend the show as all proceeds go to DPS Foundation.

Each year Ryan Chrys, who plays Santa Claus, hosts the event and performs, and Libby and her band Tracksuit Wedding perform their original music and also serve as the house band. Past headliners include members of the Lumineers, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, String Cheese Incident, The Fray, and more. The event has been very successful having sold out each year and raised thousands of dollars for the DPS Foundation.

This year Libby organized a contest for student bands in which the winner performed for the sold out crowd at the Ogden. “It’s just awesome to have the students involved directly and to see how much this event helps the schools, teachers, and students,” said Chrys.

Thank you for supporting the more than 90,000 students of Denver Public Schools. Your generous gift will have a tangible and lasting impact on the community. Together we can make our community a better place – we are all DPS!
