Board Member Johnnie Johnson (http://www.innervisionrecords.org) asked if we’d had a chance to listen to the new station yet. 92.9 – really cool!!! Good to hear something new and not the same old repeats of great songs but it’s refreshing to get out of the ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80s – and so on!

From Diane Elizabeth Robinson on Fb, 6/07/19: “Anyone can submit a song or show and it will be shared on the DenverOpenMedia.org website. There, the audience can vote 1-5 stars for anything they hear, and those votes are automatically translated into a scheduling algorithm that puts the listeners in control,” said Shawcross.

“Denver’s creative scene deserves a station dedicated to local artists. Our audience deserves to decide what they want to hear.”

DENVER — Denver-area music fans now have a new station option on their radio dial.

Denver Open Media, a new listener-scheduled radio station dedicated entirely to Colorado-based artists, officially launches Friday.

A partnership between the Open Media Foundation, KUVO, and Denhac, Denver Open Media is located on 92.9 FM and 89.3 HD3.

The music played on the new station will be “scheduled in a revolutionary new way,” according to Tony Shawcross, Open Media Foundation Executive Director.

“Anyone can submit a song or show and it will be shared on the DenverOpenMedia.org website.

The signal for 92.9 FM and 89.3 HD3 will be available from Colorado Springs to Fort Collins due to an exchange of Open Media Foundation’s previous 104.7 FM for 92.9 FM and a ten-year agreement with KUVO and Rocky Mountain PBS to operate 89.3 HD3.

“It will be a unique launch event, benefitting a unique vision. We’re excited to be a part of it,” said Tina Cartagena, Senior Vice President of Radio for KUVO.
