By Ashley Ramynke | Gritty Rocks Live! (GRL) is hosting a livestream tour in eight major cities across the U.S. starting in early July. Local female artists from each featured city are encouraged to check the schedule and apply here. The deadline to apply is this Thursday.
Every week, GRL — apart of the platform Gritty in Pink — features a live charity fundraiser, sponsors giveaways, intimate performances and artist interviews. Artists of diverse backgrounds are able to come together, revel in the virtual community space and create lasting connections.
“With the ongoing support for our GRL weekly livestream, our team thought this was a fun way to bring the community vibes of Gritty in Pink cross-country and expand our female-powered network,” founder Shira Yevin said.
Gritty in Pink started a monthly live concert series in L.A. earlier this year. Then, COVID-19 hit and the founders created GRL to provide artists with connection and performance opportunities.
“While we miss our magical monthly events in L.A., one advantage of going digital has been the ability to include artists from all locations. We feel, now more than ever, the country needs to come together, and this is an awesome opportunity to unite and connect female artists of all genres and backgrounds,” said Yevin. “The bill will be a mix of curated and submitted talent. Since we can’t tour the country due to the pandemic, this is the next best way to see America this summer.”
