The Adobe Illustrator Workshop (March 7) introduces students to this popular vector graphic program. Students will learn the program’s interface as they design a logo.

Learn Adobe’s vector graphic editor, including when it is best to use Illustrator, the interface and tools, and how Illustrator can be used for video production along with the other applications in the Adobe Creative Suite.

In this class, students will follow along with the design of a logo. Students will learn how to create and group shapes; add text; use tools such as the pen, knife, and scissors; and export the design for print, web or video.

Adobe Photoshop Workshop (March 9) covers the basics of image editing and how to use Photoshop to create graphics for your video projects.

Calling All Artists: Cover Art for KGNU’s Program Guide!

KGNU Community Radio, 88.5 FM & 1390 AM Boulder/Denver, 93.7 FM Nederland, and 98.7 in Fort Collins is working on it’s Annual Program Guide. The guide will be released on May 22, 2017 and will also be published electronically.

The guide keeps us in touch with our listener-members and works as a way of spreading KGNU’s message to those who may not know of the station already. We print and distribute 15,000 copies (5,000 are directly mailed to members). The Program Guide also offers local businesses an excellent opportunity to show that they support independent local media and KGNU’s eclectic mix of diverse music and in-depth news and informational programming.

Contest Guidelines & Prizes

● The theme of the Program Guide is “media under-siege” and the importance of protecting community/ independent media outlets like KGNU.

● The guide will be printed in 4-color glossy cover and the dimensions are 8.5 x 11 (full bleed).

● PDF or JPG files preferred.

1st place winner will be given the front cover of the Program Guide including an artist profile in the Program Guide, dinner for two at our Summer or Winter Arugula Dinner, 2 concert tickets to the Arise festival in Aug.

2nd place and 3rd place winners will receive a pair of concert tickets to the Arise festival in Aug.

Deadline for submission is April 1, 2017. Winners will be notified by April 15, 2017.
