DENVER – Swallow Hill Music is now accepting submissions for its annual Young Songwriters Competition. The competition is open to middle and high school students who wish to send us their best original song.

Song submissions are due to Cheri Gonzales, Director of School Operations, via email by 5 p.m. Denver time on Friday, February 24 at cheri@swallowhillmusic.org.

The song must include lyrics and may be performed solo or with a group of up to four people.

Selected performers will be notified by Wednesday, March 15 and will be invited to perform live at the Museum of Contemporary Art on Saturday, April 1 at 7 p.m., where the winners will be determined.

Prizes include a recording studio session, equipment, gift certificates, performance opportunities and more.

Complete Competition Guidelines:
Submissions are due Friday, February 24, by 5 p.m. via email to cheri@swallowhillmusic.org.

Groups may have one to four members, who must be either middle or high school students.

Music may be acoustic or electric, but cannot include synthesizers or sample tracks.

Submissions must include the following:
● A completed submission form, which is available at this link

● Recording of one song in an MP3, WAV or M4A format (no CDs please)
● Typed original lyrics (a lyrical component is required)
