Medical Professional Annette Cannon – and COMBO VP

From Annette Cannon: I understand this outbreak can be stressful. It can cause us fear and anxiety. Everyone responds differently too, but it helps to have some strong coping skills. Listening to music is a big way for people to cope. Making music is a way to cope also. Ever wonder how you can help others? As a musician, the public depends on us to make the music. You, yes you, are a natural healer!

This Pandemic is new to everyone. It is different than anything we have ever seen or experienced. Everyone is dealing with it the best they can. Have faith that there are people out there taking care of what they can to make sure we are all safe and protected as much as possible. Especially important with this situation, though, it is going to require all of us to do our part, too. This is about all of our lives, not just some, or our own. Do your part to stay safe and flatten the curve by following the guidelines given to you by the experts.

Are you worried or concerned about your own health? What about the health of someone you love? Is it difficult to sleep or concentrate? Have your eating habits changed? Do you have an increase in anxiety or are you forgetting things more easily? Do you feel overwhelmed? If so, these are all signs of stress. The more you learn how to cope with these things, the stronger you will be for not only yourself but for others, too.

Need some ways to cope with that stress you are experiencing? Need to help someone else with coping? Some things that can help are simply to just take a break! That means take a break from Social Media (it will still be there when you come back to your computer), take a break from watching the news or reading about the news, and take care of yourself. Taking care of yourself can be exercising (with lots of deep breaths or stretching), eating healthier, sleeping for the required hours, avoiding alcohol/drugs, and just take some time to connect with others (via phone, email, zoom, Skype, etc).
